Torres Strait-Cape York is the second in the district series on North Queensland deserted towns. |

In keeping with the first of the series, it includes not only the history, plans, and locations of the deserted towns and camps in that area but also covers stories and photographs of the unique area attributes.
In the case of Torres Strait-Cape York this covers the story of the Duifken and its replica, the annual tourist migration to the Cape, and Second World War airfields.
In Torres Strait it covers the unique islander traditions and stories from their past along with a photographic essay on the islands with a separate section on Thursday Island and the pearling industry.
